Domaine de Trévallon - White 2022
Domaine Trévallon is located in the town of Saint-Etienne-du-Grès, on the northern slopes of the Alpilles in Provence . The property extends over 17 hectares, made up of vineyards, scrubland, holm oaks, olive trees and almond trees. In 1950, Jacqueline and René Dürrbach bought Mas Chabert and in 1960, the adjoining property: Trévallon. Eloi Dürrbach planted the first vines in 1973, and managed the vineyard with Floriane for more than thirty years, until her death in November 2021. The emblematic bottle labels are the work of René Dürrbach, Eloi's father , painter and sculptor and friend of many painters, including Pablo Picasso. The vineyard has been certified in organic farming since 2007.
Blanc de Trévallon is a blend of Marsanne, Roussanne, Chardonnay and Grenache Blanc . The vinification and aging of each grape variety are carried out separately. Aging lasts 12 months in Burgundy barrels, 20% of which are new . The White tastes well the first year after bottling. You will then have to wait between 7 and 10 years depending on the vintage in order to appreciate its complexity.
