Old Forester 1870 - Original Batch - 45%
Old Forester is produced by Brown-Forman in Louisville, Kentucky , USA. The brand bills itself as "America's First Bottled Bourbon" ; the first bourbon to be bottled in a sealed container as early as 1870. It is one of the few bourbons to remain in continuous production before, during, and after Prohibition.
In 1870, George Garvin Brown created Old Forester on the famed Whiskey Row in Louisville, Kentucky. In tribute to this pivotal year in bourbon history, the distillery created Old Forester 1870 Original Batch, the first expression in the Old Forester Whiskey Row series .
1870 Original Batch follows George Garvin Brown's original brewing process. At the time, Brown blended barrels from three distilleries to create a consistent flavor profile. To replicate this process today, the distillery also selects barrels from three warehouses, each barrel from a different production day, with a different alcohol content and age profile. The three Old Forester expressions are then blended and subjected to minimal filtration.

" An old-fashioned bourbon, but tailored for today's palates: precise, harmonious, and perfect for revisiting an Old Fashioned... or enjoying it on its own, just as George Garvin Brown would have intended."
