Clos de la Barthassade - Pur C 2024
Clos de la Barthassade is located in Aniane, in the heart of the Terrasses du Larzac in Languedoc . The estate was founded in 2014 by Burgundians Hélène and Guillaume Baron . They trained with renowned winemakers such as Dominique Derain and Sylvain Pataille at Domaine de la Pousse d'Or and Domaine de Trévallon. The estate, approximately 13 hectares in size, consists of several small vineyards planted on limestone scree terraces in the communes of Montpeyroux, Jonquières, and Saint-Saturnin. The couple uses natural plot-by-plot vinification, without added yeast or sulfur. The vineyard is cultivated organically , and some tasks are carried out according to the biodynamic calendar.
Pur C is made from Cinsault , the average vine age of which is 35 years, and grown on a 2.3 hectare plot of limestone scree on the island of Barthassade in Montpeyroux. The wine is aged for 8 months in stainless steel vats (90%) and barrels (10%) .
Grape variety: 100% Cinsault
