Maison Louis Roque - La Vieille Prune - Imperial Reserve - 42%
Maison Louis Roque (also known as Distillerie Louis Roque ) is located in Souillac, in the Lot region . Founded in 1905, this family business embodies the excellence and tradition of the Southwest region. For over a century, it has perpetuated a unique expertise in the artisanal distillation of eaux-de-vie, including its famous Vieille Prune . Far from industrial production, the distillery makes a point of respecting the cycles of the fruit and manual work, thus offering authentic spirits.
La Vieille Prune Réserve Impériale is made from fresh, perfectly ripe plums , mainly Ente, Mirabelle and Reine-Claude varieties, from orchards in the Southwest. The plums are pitted by hand and then placed in vats for natural fermentation , without additives. Once fermentation is complete, the musts are slowly distilled in copper bain-marie stills , using the Charente method. The resulting eau-de-vie is then aged for more than 5 years in oak barrels. Before bottling, the different batches are precisely blended to ensure consistency of taste, vintage after vintage.
" Rich and deep, this Imperial Reserve reveals notes of candied plum, noble wood, and sweet spices. On the palate, the texture is velvety, with a long, warm finish. Enjoy neat, or in a Manhattan twist for a majestic effect."
