Château HAUT-BERGEY - Cuvée Paul 2021
Château Haut-Bergey is located in Pessac-Léognan , Bordeaux . It dates back to the 15th century, but the castle, which was built in 1850 as a leisure residence, had an abandoned vineyard. It has belonged to the Garcin family since 1991. Managed by Sylviane Garcin-Cathiard, the property has undergone a vast rehabilitation plan for both the vines and the cellars, while adopting the basics of environmentally friendly agriculture. Since 2014, Paul Garcin has decided to run the estate organically and then certified biodynamically since 2015. The vineyard covers 28.5 hectares, mainly planted with red grape varieties while 2 hectares are dedicated to the production of white wine. The Garcin Vineyards portfolio also includes Clos L'Église in Pomerol, other Châteaux in Pessac-Léognan and Bodega Poesia in Mendoza.
Cuvée Paul Rouge is a classic Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot . The grapes are harvested by hand using small crates to avoid damaging the fruit. The grapes are vinified in small, temperature-controlled stainless steel vats . The wine is then aged in French oak barrels for 14 months , 30% of which are new .
Grape varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot
"A classic yet vibrant wine, which combines Bordeaux nobility with a modern and vibrant philosophy of the vine."
