Tapatio - Tequila Blanco - 110 - 55%
Tapatio tequila has been produced since 1940 at the La Alteña distillery in Arandas, in the Highlands region of Jalisco, Mexico . Tapatio has been distilled by the Camarena family for four generations. Carlos Camarena ran the estate for a long time, and is now supported and gradually replaced by Jenny Camarena , the first female master distiller.
Tapatio Tequila Blanco 110 (High Proof) is an undiluted , more potent expression of the classic Blanco. It is 110 proof , or 55% alcohol by volume , compared to the standard version's 40%. It is produced from mature 6- to 10-year-old Weber blue agave grown in the highlands of Jalisco. The piñas are slowly cooked for 4 days in brick ovens, then crushed using a mix of traditional and mechanical methods. Fermentation occurs naturally in open wooden vats. The tequila is double distilled in copper pot stills and bottled without dilution or aging.
" Tapatio Blanco 110 reveals an explosion of ripe agave and peppery spices, with a fresh, minty finish. Perfect for a spicy cocktail or enjoyed neat for those who love intensity."
