La Mariota - Orange Tacsum 2022
Domaine La Mariota is located in Vingrau, in Roussillon . It was founded in 2018 by Cécilia Diaz and Guillermo Campos , originally from Argentina and initially sommeliers and restaurant professionals in Paris, London, Cannes and Geneva. In a few years, they expanded their vineyard from 1.7 to 8 hectares of old vines, spread between two small communes with contrasting geological terroirs: Tautavel, with schist soils, and Vingrau, characterized by limestone. Today, Cécilia and Guillermo work with eight different grape varieties, with distinct vinification and aging for each plot. They favor the most natural approach possible : indigenous yeasts, no inputs (except sometimes a light dose of sulfur), no filtration and long aging. The estate is certified organic .
Orange Tacsum is a blend of Muscat à Petits Grains (50%) and Muscat d'Alexandrie (50%) . Maceration lasts 12 days in whole bunches. The wine is aged for 12 months in vats, then 6 months in bottles.
Grape varieties: 50% Muscat à Petits Grains, 50% Muscat of Alexandria
"Orange Tacsum 2022 reveals delicate notes of dried apricot, light honey, and sweet spices. On the palate, the liveliness of citrus fruits blends with a silky, slightly tannic texture, the legacy of a long maceration."
