For this last vintage vinified by the late Denis Dubourdieu, illustrious oenologist and teacher-researcher at the origin of the Vine and Wine Institute but also a major contributor to the modernization of cultural practices in Bordeaux, Château Lafaurie-Peryaguey has soberly affixed on the label of its 0.75l bottles a mention "Hommage à Denis Dubourdieu".
Coming from a very old wine-growing estate of 36 hectares, Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey is located in the heart of Sauternes. Its 2015 vintage comes from a blend made up mainly of Semillon, then Sauvignon and Muscadelle.
With a beautiful golden straw color, this vintage has a nice fine and floral nose. We discover a background of candied fruits, citrus fruits and spices accompanied by perfect notes of botrytisation. This Sauternes wine is very elegant and despite its richness retains a beautiful crystalline side. The 2015 Château Lafaurie Peyraguey offers a very pure liquor supported by a racy freshness, a beautiful length and a nice balance. It ends in a great finish, dynamic and carried by a superb acidity.
