Blanton's - Single Barrel n°350 - Rick n°41 - Whiskey Live Routes - 60%
Blanton's is crafted at Buffalo Trace in Kentucky, the birthplace of the first single barrel bourbon, launched in 1984. La Maison du Whisky's Itinéraires selections showcase specific casks from the legendary Warehouse H, an iconic metal warehouse where temperature fluctuations accelerate the interaction between new oak and the distillate. This micro-selection approach yields unique expressions with distinct personalities.
This “Itineraries” edition comes from cask #350, housed on rick #41 in Warehouse H. Bottled at 60% ABV, it retains the distinct character of aging and the unique aromatic signature of this batch. Each bottle comes from a single cask, without blending, allowing for a direct expression of toasted American oak and the house's distinctive rye profile. This is a very limited series reserved for the French market. Only one bottle is available in our shop.
The nose opens with aromas of brown caramel, sweetcorn, and vanilla, joined by candied orange, marzipan, and a hint of menthol inherited from the rye. Aeration reveals toffee, roasted hazelnut, and nuances of bark and fine leather. The palate is ample and energetic, supported by the alcohol, with a core of brown sugar, roasted peach, and sweet spices where cinnamon and nutmeg mingle with a touch of white pepper. The oily texture remains clean, supported by a well-integrated oak structure. The finish is long and dry, with notes of barley sugar, bitter orange zest, bourbon vanilla, and a lingering hint of pecan.
At the table or in the living room, serve it neat after a few minutes of rest, or with a few drops of water to adjust the intensity. It pairs well with a square of lightly sweetened dark chocolate, pecan pie, grilled steak glazed with reduced jus, or mature cheddar cheese. Those who enjoy medium-bodied cigars will find a harmonious resonance with it.
