Maison Camille Thiriet - Bourgogne Rouge - Les Chagniots 2024
Maison Camille Thiriet Bourgogne Rouge Les Chagniots 2024 continues the precise and confidential work carried out by Camille Thiriet and Matt Chittick in Corgoloin, at the heart of the Côte de Nuits. Founded in 2016, the estate quickly established itself as one of the most followed addresses of the new Burgundian generation. Its approach is based on single-vineyard cuvées, deliberately limited production, and extreme attention to the accuracy of ripeness. Les Chagniots represents a deeper and more structured expression of Bourgogne Rouge, with a denser style than En la Place. The 2024 vintage highlights a precise reading of Pinot Noir, between fruit intensity, texture finesse, and natural energy. This cuvée perfectly reflects the estate's ambition: to reveal discreet terroirs with the care usually reserved for the greatest appellations. It is a confidential, serious, and refined Bourgogne Rouge, intended for lovers of characterful Pinot Noir.
Located below the Clos des Langres, the Les Chagniots parcel rests on clay-limestone soils with clays deeper and denser than those of En la Place. The vines, about 60 years old, naturally bring concentration, relief, and complexity to the matter. This terroir produces a fleshier, more structured, and more intense Pinot Noir, without losing the elegance typical of the Côte de Nuits. The estate's work remains faithful to an artisanal approach, with gentle, low-intervention vinifications designed to accompany the grape without constraining it. Infusion, measured extractions, and the search for precision preserve the fruit's finesse while building true depth on the palate. The 2024 thus stands out by a fuller body, a more robust framework, and a darker aromatic expression than the estate's airiest cuvées. However, the whole retains this Thiriet signature made of balance, purity, and delicate touch.
On tasting, the color presents an intense, bright ruby, slightly deeper than the estate's lightest expressions. The nose evokes black cherry, blackberry, ripe raspberry, and blackcurrant, with nuances of sweet spices, white pepper, and fine undergrowth. The mouth is round, fleshy, and silky, supported by fine tannins that structure the wine without hardening it. The fruit remains very clear, with a beautiful freshness sensation that balances the natural depth of the cuvée. The finish extends the black fruits, spices, and a slightly earthy touch, in a style both gourmand and serious. This Bourgogne Rouge can be drunk young after a short aeration, but it also has enough substance to evolve for a few years in the cellar. It will ideally accompany roasted poultry, pork tenderloin, veal chop, duck breast, sautéed mushrooms, refined bistro cuisine, or soft cheese.
