Maison Camille Thiriet - Bourgogne Rouge - En la Place 2024
Maison Camille Thiriet Bourgogne Rouge En la Place 2024 is among the most charming cuvées of this artisanal house located in Corgoloin, in the heart of the Côte de Nuits. Founded in 2016 by Camille Thiriet and Matt Chittick, the estate quickly established itself among lovers of precise, confidential, and deeply sincere Burgundy. Their work highlights sometimes more discreet appellations, but capable of expressing a strong identity when vinified with rigor. Production remains deliberately limited to preserve a very attentive approach to each cuvée, from the vine to bottling. En la Place 2024 illustrates this philosophy with a delicate, floral, and very refined red Burgundy. The wine reveals a sensitive reading of Pinot Noir, far from any heavy extraction or overly demonstrative style. It is a confidential, elegant, and immediately charming cuvée, ideal for discovering Camille Thiriet's very particular mouthfeel.
From a 90-year-old plot located in Corgoloin, this cuvée rests on sandy clay soils that earned it the evocative nickname La Sablière. The old vines naturally bring more concentration, finesse, and depth, while maintaining a very airy expression of Pinot Noir. The sandy soil favors a delicate texture, supple tannins, and a particularly pure fruit sensation. In the cellar, the work remains artisanal and minimally interventionist, with fermentations carried out by indigenous yeasts. Bucket pump-overs, gentle extractions, and delicate pressing with a small wooden ratchet press help preserve the finesse of the material. Minimal use of sulfur supports this quest for a lively, precise, and unadorned wine. The 2024 vintage offers a fine, bright, and very digestible red, carried by the brightness of the fruit and the natural freshness of the terroir.
On tasting, the color presents a clear and bright ruby, with great visual elegance. The nose evokes wild strawberry, rose, fresh raspberry, red cherry, and a touch of soft spices. The palate is supple, fluid, and delicate, with a velvety texture and very fine tannins. The whole seduces by its balance between gourmandise, floral freshness, and aromatic precision. The finish remains elegant, salivating, and slightly spicy, with a beautiful persistence on fresh red fruits. This red Burgundy can be served slightly chilled, around 15 to 16°C, to preserve its brightness and finesse. It will ideally accompany roasted poultry, pork tenderloin, veal chop, mushroom risotto, grilled vegetables, refined bistro cuisine, or soft cheese.
