Ménard Le Rouge ”is the youngest from Domaine des Sablonnettes.
In the Ménard family, we ask for the son: Jérémy… it is he who made this red cuvée from the oldest plots of Gamay, Grolleau and Cabernet Franc vines. A cuvée on the fruit, light and greedy, a wine without harshness, easy to drink… almost too much!
This cuvée is a hymn to the family, in homage to grandfather Augustus, whose red mustaches appear on the label, designed by Jérémy. The red, the hammer and the secateurs in a nod to the personality of Augustus and his activism ... because he was a laborer in the vineyards and was one of the first to claim a fair price for this work (at the time a barrel of wine was enough to pay a laborer for a whole year…).
A very successful first cuvée, whose bottles are counted… Admittedly classified as Vin de France (we admit not paying attention to AOC when tasting a wine, and luckily… we are so often surprised !!) but produced by the hands of a family of Grands Vignerons, on a Grand Terroir… Go there with confidence!
