Château GUADET-SAINT-JULIEN 1988
When the French Revolution broke out in 1789, Élie Guadet, from a family of Girondin magistrates, had already acquired a solid reputation as a litigator in Bordeaux. With Gensonné and Vergniaud, he will be one of the founders of the political group of the Girondins.
Pursued during the French Revolution, he found refuge in the cellars that run under the properties and was guillotined and his family in 1794.
In 1844, the Lignac family bought the Domaine Saint-Julien, owned by the Guadet family. The estate then takes the name of Château Guadet Saint-Julien. It was not until 2005 that Guy Pétrus decided to change the name to Château Guadet. The vineyard is certified organic by Ecocert in 2013 and obtained in 2015 the biodynamic certification.
