Domaine Vincent PINARD - Sancerre Rouge - Pinot Noir 2018
Domaine Vincent Pinard is a producer based in Sancerre, in the Loire Valley of France. The estate spreads over 17 hectares of vines (Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir), cultivated organically. The Sauvignon Blanc was planted in the 1960s, on limestone soils and the Pinot Noir, which average age is 40 years, benefits from the clay-limestone soils.
This Pinot Noir, which vine is 28 years-old, is grown on two hectares located on the Terroirs of Bué. The bunches are destemmed then undergo a maceration in round wooden vats. Fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts, with cold pre-fermentation, punching down and gentle pumping over. The aging is entirely in barrels, none of which is new. The wine is racked after 11 to 15 months, depending on the tasting, then bottled without fining or filtration.
Grape variety: 100% Pinot Noir
