Château LA CONSEILLANTE 1991
Château La Conseillante is located east of the Pomerol appellation on the border with Saint-Émilion in Bordeaux, neighbour of L'Evangile and Vieux Château Certan in Pomerol, and Cheval Blanc. Château La Conseillante dates back to the middle of the 18th century, when it was managed by Catherine Conseillan. It has belonged to the Nicolas familysince 1871. The vineyard is planted on clay soil with 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc. The grapes undergo cold maceration for up to four days, followed by alcoholic fermentation and one or two weeks of maceration. The Grand Vin La Conseillante is aged in barrels for an average of 18 months, with 50 to 80% new barrels depending on the vintage.
