Clos de la Cure 1990
Clos de la Cure is located in Saint-Christophe-des-Barbes in the Saint-Emilion Grand Cru appellation, in the Bordeaux wine region. It belongs to Domaine Bouyer, a family estate for 7 generations which also owns Château Milon. The Clos de la Cure vineyard extends over a 7.5 hectare plateau. The age of the vines varies between 25 and 30 years.
The wine is a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc. The grapes are put in cold pre-fermentation maceration and then vinified in vats with regular punching down. The wine is aged for 12 to 15 months in barrels, 50% of which are new. 1990 is considered “vintage of the millennium” in the Saint-Emilion Grand Cru appellation.
