Champagne Marguet - Shaman 17
Champagne Marguet is located in Ambonnay, in the Montagne de Reims in Champagne. The estate is managed by Benoît Marguet. The Ambonnay vineyard covers 7.30 hectares in the localities of Les Saints Remys, Les Beurys, Les Crayères, La Grande Ruelle, Les Bermonts and Le Parc. He also owns 0.70 hectares on the Grand Cru Bouzy. The vines are cultivated in biodynamic agriculture with phytotherapy (infusion and decoction of medicinal plants) and aromatherapy (essential oil). The soil has been ploughed with draft horses since 2010. The well-being of the soil is a priority for the harvester-handler, and it is said that the horse is linked to 3 elements of the soil: mineral (chalk), vegetal (vine and flora) and animal (fauna, humans). In the cellar, fermentation takes place by plots in wooden vats and barrels. Aging on lees is long and the use of sulfur is minimal at bottling.
Shaman 17 is a blend made predominantly with Pinot Noir completed with Chardonnay. This is an Extra-BrutChampagne with 2.4 g/L of residual sugar.
Grape varieties: 69% Pinot Noir, 31% Chardonnay
