Château PICQUE CAILLOU 1992
Château Picque Caillou is located in the Pessac-Léognan appellation , in the Bordeaux wine region. Jean Laclotte, a famous architect of his time, built Picque Caillou in 1756. Later, his son Etienne Laclotte made it his summer home, thus taking advantage of the mild Aquitaine climate. Etienne Laclotte died in 1812 and the successive owners took little care of the vineyard until it was purchased in 1947 by Etienne Denis, an entrepreneur from Bordeaux in Indochina, who entrusted the operation to competent managers. After his son, Alphonse Denis, it was his granddaughter, Isabelle and her husband, Paulin Calvet, who became owners in 1997. Coming from a long line of Bordeaux merchants, Paulin Calvet arrived in 2006 to give back impetus to Picque Caillou . In 2007, Paulin Calvet asked Valérie Lavigne, consultant oenologist, to surround the new team and provide her expertise and rigorous technical assistance. Since 2018, the vineyard has been certified High Environmental Value .
