Chateau PONTET-CANET 2017
Château Pontet-Canet is located in Pauillac , in the Médoc of the Bordeaux region. It was classified Fifth Grand Cru Classé in the Bordeaux classification of 1855. Pontet-Canet has been owned by the Tesseron family since 1975. The vines of Pontet-Canet cover 81 hectares on around a hundred plots. In 2004, the first 14 hectares of Pontet-Canet were converted to biodynamics. After this conclusive trial, the following year, it was decided to convert the entire vineyard. In 2010, the wines of the Château are certified in organic and biodynamic agriculture .
Pontet-Canet 2017 is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (64%), Merlot (30%), Cabernet Franc (4%) and Petit Verdot (2%) . The wine is aged in new barrels (50%), in one-wine barrels (10 to 15%) and in Dolia, concrete amphorae (30-40%). Maturation lasts 16 to 18 months.
