The Flower of VivaltuS 2017
Bodega VivaltuS is owned by Grupo Yllera , located in Castilla y Leon, Spain . Bodegas Grupo Yllera was founded in 1970 and in 2016 a winery from the DO Ribera del Duero was purchased. Bodega VivaltuS is located on top of a hill in Curiel de Duero and is managed by Marco and Carlos Yllera , 6th generation of the family to produce wine. Today, after more than 5 years of work, VivaltuS is launched on the market. A project with the Berrouet label in which Jean-Claude Berrouet and his son Jeff collaborated alongside Montxo Martínez . An exciting project at the service of the Terroir, patience and know-how. 2016 is the first vintage to be marketed.
La Fleur de VivaltuS is the estate's second wine. The 2017 vintage is a blend of Tempranillo (96%), Cabernet Sauvignon (3%) and Merlot (1%) . The grapes come from old vines grown between 750 and 1,000 meters above sea level. The harvest is manual and the fermentation starts with indigenous yeasts. The wine is aged for 9 months in French oak barrels (90%) and in vats (10%).
