Bodegas Muga - Reserve 2018
Bodegas Muga is located in Haro, in the Rioja region of Spain . The family business was founded by Isaac Muga and Aurora Caño in 1932. The Muga vineyard extends over 250 hectares, in several plots: El Estepal, La Loma, Baltracones, La Loma Alta and Sajazarra. These vineyards are located at different altitudes, on varied soils, which makes it possible to adapt each terroir to the best grape varieties. Bodegas Muga has four fermentation rooms containing 90 wooden barrels of various sizes. Thanks to this wide range, Bodegas Muga can produce wines of different styles depending on the quality of the fruit and the vineyards from which they come. Muga is one of the few producers in Spain to have its own cooperage.
Muga Reserva is a blend of Tempranillo, Garnacha, Mazuelo and Graciano . After the manual harvest, fermentation begins spontaneously with indigenous yeasts in wooden vats. The wine is aged for 24 months in Muga's own barrels: 80% French oak and 20% American oak. It is aged in the bottle for at least 12 months before being marketed.
