Limoncello - Tosolini - 28%
The Bepi Tosolini distillery is located in Udine, in the Friuli region of Italy . Bepi Tosolini founded the distillery in 1943 and produced grappa from local grapes. Although he grew up with local winemaking and distilling traditions, he set out to create a new style of grappa. At the time, grappa was roughly distilled from waste from winemaking. It was an inexpensive raw spirit drunk daily, often with coffee, by workers who could not afford more luxurious spirits. Bepi wanted to produce a higher quality spirit, and he did so by using his own steam stills and aging his product in ash vats rather than traditional oak barrels, producing a clear grappa rather than amber . Today, only the best grapes selected directly by the Tosolini family from the Collio and Colli Orientali vineyards are used in the manufacturing process. Gentle pressing is carried out to obtain a “noble” must and a moist and aromatic marc.
This Limoncello is flavored with an infusion of yellow summer lemon peels from Amalfi and winter limes from southern Italy.
