Champagne Gratiot-Pillière - Extra Brut
Champagne Gratiot-Pillière is located in Charly-sur-Marne, in the Marne Valley in Champagne . The Gratiot family has been cultivating vines since 1657 and Daniel Gratiot was the first member of the family to produce champagne from white wine in 1963. Today, owner-harvesters Olivier and Sébastien Gratiot work 18 hectares of vines using sustainable agriculture. with minimal intervention. The terroir is very varied since it extends over around fifteen kilometers in the Marne Valley, allowing the flagship Meunier grape variety to be revealed, alongside Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
Extra-Brut Tradition is a blend of Meunier (64%), Chardonnay (33%) and Pinot Noir (3%) . It is mainly made up of the 2019 vintage (56%), supplemented by reserve wines (44%). The wine is aged on slats for 30 months . It is disgorged 3 to 6 months before being marketed and contains an Extra-Brut dosage of 5 g/L of residual sugar.
