Champagne Chartogne Taillet - The Rosé 2021
Champagne Chartogne-Taillet is located in Merfy , in the Montagne de Reims region of Champagne . The estate has existed since 1683, when the Taillet family began cultivating vines in Merfy. It is still a family estate, managed by Alexandre Chartogne-Taillet since 2006. The 11 hectares of the vineyard are divided into 13 separate plots on a clay-sand terroir. Alexandre Chartogne-Taillet uses organic farming methods and has abandoned the use of synthetic herbicides, but is not certified.
The Rosé is a blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, mostly from the 2021 vintage. The grapes are harvested by hand and after pressing and fermentation with natural yeasts, the wines are aged in vats . The dosage is 5 to 6 g/L . It was disgorged in May 2024.
Grape varieties: Pinot Noir, Chardonnay
"A delicate yet vibrant rosé, blending the floral finesse of Chardonnay with the depth of Pinot Noir. The overall effect is taut and elegant, with a chalky finish reminiscent of the Merfy terroir."
