Distillerie du Petit Grain - Winemaker's Spirit - Marc de Muscat d'Alexandrie from Domaine Danjou-Banessy - 47%
The Distillerie du Petit Grain is located in Saint-Jean de Minervois, in the Hérault region . The micro-distillery was created in the heart of the village by Patricia and Laurent Gaspard . They produce fresh, pure and fragrant eaux-de-vie with their still made in the workshops of Jean-Louis Stupfler, whose work is renowned for being present in the most demanding French and foreign distilleries. It is a copper still with an open flame , which requires delicate handling, but allows for precise heating and promotes the development of aromas.
The couple chooses organically grown fruits, healthy and at their optimal ripeness. Their philosophy is based on respect for the terroir, tradition and seasons, the apricots are pitted by hand, the marc is destemmed, no operation is mechanized. The distillates are not filtered, the heads and tails of distillation are discarded in order to keep only the heating hearts, which give low yields.
The Esprit Vigneron collection from Distillerie du Petit Grain highlights specific grape varieties and partner estates, telling the story of each wine from which the eau-de-vie is made. Each bottle reflects the identity of the estate, the grape variety, and the winemaking methods. This marc is made from Muscat d'Alexandrie from the Supernova cuvée, cultivated by Domaine Danjou-Banessy in the Pyrénées-Orientales .
" A lively and floral spirit, where the sweetness of Muscat of Alexandria is expressed with elegance. The nose opens with touches of rose and delicate exotic fruits. A marc that combines finesse and authenticity, reflecting a terroir and a grape variety carefully sublimated."
