Mas Mellet - The Saltworks Path - Red 2024
Mas Mellet is located in Gallician , in Costières-de-Nîmes in the Gard region . The estate was taken over in 2002 by Emilie and Brice Bolognini , when they were in their twenties. They work the 27 hectares of vines that were abandoned using organic farming , certified since 2007.
Le Chemin des Salines is a cuvée produced in collaboration with Eric Pfifferling , from Domaine de l'Anglore located in the Rhône Valley, in Tavel . It is a blend of Cinsault (45%), Grenache (45%) and Syrah (10%) . After manual harvesting, sorting is carried out at the plot and then at the winery. The grapes are refrigerated overnight and then put into vats by gravity. They macerate for 6 to 7 days and are then devatted by gravity. The pressing and flow of the juices is done in concrete vats. The wine is aged in concrete vats.
