Domaine Les Creisses - Les Creisses Red - Magnum 2023
THE Domaine des Creisses is located in Valros, in IGP Pays de l'Hérault in the Languedoc . The family property was created in the 19th century and was taken over by Philippe Chesnelong in 1998. Louis Mitjavile, his cousin, brings his expertise to winemaking and aging. The vineyard is in reasoned protection and therefore treated as little as possible, but as much as necessary. It has just been certified High Environmental Value (HVE) . The estate has two distinct terroirs: Les Creisses and Les Brunes. Les Creisses consists of an 11-hectare plateau of stony clay-limestone with deep soil and a 20-hectare development on hillsides of Villafranchian gravel interspersed with woods. Les Brunes are brown earths of volcanic origin on hillsides planted with Mourvèdre and Cabernet Sauvignon.
The Creisses is an assembly of Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache, Marselan Alicante, Mourvèdre and Carignan . The harvest is destemmed, followed by a long maceration of 20 days. The wine is aged for 12 to 18 months.
Grape varieties: Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache, Marselan Alicante, Mourvèdre, Carignan
" In magnum, Les Creisses 2023 gains in depth and brightness. It delivers a generous and balanced expression of Languedoc: juicy black fruits, sweet spices, a hint of licorice and minty freshness. A sunny wine with a structured profile, carried by a beautiful density and an almost Bordeaux-like structure."
