Champagne A. Lamblot - Synergie - Brut Nature
Champagne A. Lamblot is part of this new generation of Champagne winemakers who bring a lively and artisanal interpretation of the Petite Montagne de Reims. Located in Janvry, at the heart of an area where Meunier finds a particularly flavorful expression, Alexandre Lamblot continues an old family history while asserting a very personal vision of champagne. The estate relies on vines spread over several villages, with strong attention paid to biodiversity, soils, and reducing inputs. This approach gives rise to precise, sincere, and expressive grower champagnes, far from a standardized style. The vineyard work favors observation, natural grass cover, and practices inspired by organic and biodynamic methods. In the Champagne appellation, A. Lamblot stands out with straightforward, low-intervention cuvées that primarily seek to convey the energy of the grape and the uniqueness of the terroirs.
The Synergie Brut Nature cuvée from Champagne A. Lamblot lives up to its name, as it combines the three great Champagne grape varieties in a balance dominated by Pinot Meunier. The blend consists of 62% Pinot Meunier, 20% Chardonnay, and 18% Pinot Noir, resulting in a champagne that is both fruity, structured, and taut. The grapes come from Champagne terroirs marked by clay-limestone and sandy soils, with vinification designed to preserve the finesse of the material. The long pressing in a traditional Coquard press helps to extract the juices delicately, while aging in barrels of different sizes adds depth without masking the brightness of the fruit. The absence of dosage, typical of the Brut Nature style, reveals the purity of the blend and the precision of the mineral framework. This cuvée is in a dry, straight, and vibrant register, with a strong personality but always carried by freshness.
On tasting, Champagne A. Lamblot Synergie Brut Nature reveals a fine bubble and a clear aromatic expression, centered on white fruits, ripe citrus, and delicate floral nuances. Pinot Meunier brings a sensation of fleshiness and indulgence, while Chardonnay stretches the wine with freshness and Pinot Noir reinforces the structure. The palate is precise, energetic, and saline, with a texture that gains breadth thanks to aging under wood. The zero dosage accentuates the tension and gives a dry, persistent finish marked by a beautiful sensation of purity. This champagne will ideally accompany oysters, sea bream tartare, langoustines, creamy poultry, or a soft cheese with light aging. It can be enjoyed now for its brightness but will gain complexity after a few years in the cellar, when its notes of dried fruits, fine pastry, and gentle spices develop.
