Château la Negly - La Falaise - Red 2024
The Château La Négly, an emblematic property of the La Clape appellation, stretches out facing the Mediterranean on limestone hills swept by sea winds. This unique maritime terroir, marked by sunshine and iodized influences, promotes complete ripeness while maintaining freshness and balance. Managed by the Paux-Rosset family, the estate has established itself as an essential reference for high-end Languedoc wines, thanks to constant demands both in the vineyard and the cellar. The clay-limestone and stony soils bring depth and structure to the wines, while controlled yields allow for remarkable natural concentration. Château La Négly today embodies the excellence of the great reds of La Clape, powerful and elegant at the same time.
The cuvée La Falaise Red 2024 comes from a Mediterranean blend of Grenache, Mourvèdre, and Syrah, emblematic grape varieties of the La Clape terroir. The 2024 vintage offers here a particularly accomplished expression, combining richness, aromatic intensity, and tannic precision. The vinification favors controlled extraction to reveal the natural concentration of the fruit without excess. The aging supports the wine's structure and highlights its depth, while respecting its sunny and maritime identity. This cuvée stands out for its balance between power and smoothness, a signature of the estate's great wines.
On tasting, the color presents as intense ruby. The nose combines aromas of raspberry and blackberry with deeper notes of chocolate and black olive. The palate reveals nuances of licorice and roasting, supported by a dense and harmonious body. Of exceptional concentration, the wine extends on smooth and perfectly ripe tannins, offering a broad and persistent finish. It is recommended to decant about three hours before serving to reveal all its complexity. An ideal companion to a tournedos Rossini, it will also accompany noble meats and refined gastronomy.
