Domaine Morey Coffinet - Bâtard Montrachet Grand Cru 2024
The Domaine Morey-Coffinet is located in Chassagne-Montrachet, in the heart of the Côte de Beaune, and is among the most precise and demanding signatures of contemporary Burgundy. Born from the union of the Morey and Coffinet families, the estate cultivates some of the finest plots in the commune, with meticulous attention paid to soils and natural balances. The vineyard is managed using organic farming, with practices close to biodynamics, to preserve the vitality of the limestone terroirs. The vinifications are minimally interventionist, favoring precision, tension, and purity of expression. The long and measured élevages aim to accompany the wine without ever masking the identity of the cru. Each grand cru signed Morey-Coffinet is produced in limited quantities and sought after by discerning enthusiasts.
The Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru 2024 is made exclusively from Chardonnay, coming from one of the most prestigious terroirs of the Côte de Beaune. Located between Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet and Criots-Bâtard-Montrachet, this grand cru rests on deep clay-limestone soils, conferring remarkable power and density. The 2024 vintage, marked by precise ripeness and beautiful natural freshness, offers an expression both ample and structured. The vinification, carried out with indigenous yeasts, is followed by aging in carefully selected barrels, bringing complexity and depth without excess oak. This wine embodies the grandeur and nobility of the Bâtard-Montrachet terroir.
On tasting, the wine reveals an intense nose blending ripe citrus, white fruits, fine buttery notes, and slightly toasted touches. The palate is ample, dense, and vibrant, supported by powerful minerality and remarkable tension. The balance between richness and freshness gives the wine a majestic length and a finish of exceptional persistence. This grand cru will ideally accompany noble crustaceans, sauced fish, or refined gastronomy. Endowed with a considerable aging potential, it will evolve towards even deeper complexity over the decades.
