This edition No.9 comes from the legendary Distillerie du Galion, the last operating sugar distillery on the island of Martinique. It is renowned for its Grand Arôme rums, a traditional style marked by long fermentations that generate exceptional aromatic intensity. Bottled at 54.1%, this Grand Arôme retains all its natural strength and captures the raw soul of an almost vanished know-how. No additives, no filtration, just the pure expression of a rum of rare complexity.
On tasting, the nose strikes with its exotic power. One finds deep notes of roasted pineapple, very ripe fruits, flambéed banana, and warm molasses, enriched by more daring touches of black olive, fine varnish, and tropical spices. On the palate, the attack is ample and generous, structured by a perfectly integrated strength that highlights the richness of the distillate. The aromas explode in an opulent register, oscillating between candied fruits, resin, licorice, and flamboyant esters. The finish is long, warm, saline, almost pastry-like, with an aromatic persistence of remarkable intensity.
