Domaine de Villaine - Rully 1er Cru - Les Champs Cloux 2017
Domaine de Villaine is a Burgundy wine producer situated in Bouzeron in the Côte Chalonnaise region. The domaine holds several climats in the communes of Bouzeron, Rully, Mercurey and Santenay that are planted to Aligoté, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
The estate practices organic agricultural methods in all of its vineyards. Grapes are harvested by hand and vinified naturally. De Villaine ages its wines in tuns, oak casks and tanks, or a mixture of all three depending on the wine and the vintage. The majority of these oak casks are new so as to give a purer expression of each wine.
The Pinot Noir grapes from this Rully 1er Cru Les Champs Cloux are vinified in wooden vats for 14 days and then aged in barrels of first to fifth use. Drink now to appreciate its fruity flavours, opening the bottle a few hours before, or wait ten years to discover this wine "beyond" the fruit.
