PAVILLON DU GLANA 2017
The Château du Glana is located in Saint-Julien-Beychevelle, in the Haut-Médoc region of Bordeaux. Initially, the Château du Glana included 5 hectares of vines and, after a series of owners and vineyard extensions, the property was acquired by Gabriel Meffre in 1961. The Meffre family is still in charge today, with Jean-Paul and his two sons Ludovic and Julien who run the management of the château and its 60 hectares of vines. They undertook major renovations to the estate, which included the restoration of the vat room and aging cellars.
The Pavillon du Glana is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (60%) and Merlot (40%). The harvest undergoes cold pre-fermentation maceration for 48 hours, then is traditionally vinified in concrete and steel vats. The vatting lasts 3 weeks and the malolactic fermentation takes place in vats. The wine is aged for 12 months in barrels, 15% of which are new.
Grape varieties: 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot
