Cognac CAMUS - Port Cask Finish - Small Batch - 43,2%
Camus is an independent, family-owned Cognac House located in the Borderies estate since 1863. It was founded by Jean-Baptiste Camus and is today managed by the fifth generation, Cyril Camus. At the end of the 19th century, Camus began to export his Cognac to England, securing his first foreign market. It continued to increase exports in the 20th century across Europe and further east, becoming the official cognac of the court of Tsar Nicholas II. Camus owns 180 hectares of land and owns the largest plots of all producers of the Cognac cru of Borderies. The eau-de-vie is made from a blend of common grape varieties: Ugni Blanc, Folle Blanche and Colombard.
The second batch of Camus Port Cask Finish is a limited edition finished in old Tawny Port barrels and bottled at a higher strength. The distillation is carried out in small pot stills of 2,500 litres, with the lees to impart a maximum concentration of aromas while preserving freshness.
