Maison Les Alexandrins - Cabanon - Syrah 2020
"Domaine & Maison Les Alexandrins" was born from the association of three figures from the North of the Rhône Valley: Nicolas Jaboulet, 6th generation of a family of winegrowers settled in Tain l'Hermitage since 1834 and at the head of Maison Nicolas Perrin, Guillaume Sorrel, son of Marc Sorrel from Domaine Sorrel en Hermitage, and Alexandre Caso, the specialist in terroirs from the North of the Rhône Valley. In 2014, the desire of Alexandre and Guillaume to promote the wines of Domaine Les Alexandrins and the desire of Nicolas to anchor Maison Nicolas Perrin in the heart of the North Rhône Valley led the 3 men to collaborate more and more closely.
Maison Les Alexandrins wines are more modern in their approach and more contemporary in their style. The northern wines are varied, based on exceptional terroirs unearthed by Alexandre Caso, a specialist in the terroirs of the northern Rhône Valley.
Le Cabanon Rouge is a blend of Syrah (95%) and Viognier (5%). The vines are planted in the towns of Beaumont Monteux and Pont de l'Isère on the right bank in areas where Rhône pebbles are present, and on the Ardèche plateaus. The harvest date is determined according to the maturity of each grape variety. On arrival in the cellar, the grapes are destemmed. A cold pre-fermentation is carried out in order to extract the aromas of red fruits and violets. After maceration, the must ferments for a fortnight. Punching down and pumping over are carried out. The wine is then aged in stainless steel vats to preserve the freshness and fruitiness of the wine.
