LA GRANGE TIPHAINE - Côt Vieilles Vignes 2020
La Grange Tiphaine is located in the Loire Valley , and produces wines in the appellations of Montlouis-sur-Loire , Touraine and Touraine-Ambroise . The 15-hectare vineyard is a farm dating from 1850, then specializing in polyculture (tobacco, cereals, etc.) and which saw its first vines in the 1970s. The estate was purchased in 2002 by Coralie and Damien Delecheneau and they work today together, helped by two employees: Mathieu and Jean-Rémy. They decide to convert the vineyard to organic farming and obtain biodynamic certification in 2014.
Côt Vieilles Vignes is made from old vines of Côt (also known as Malbec) which are 120 years old. The harvest is manual and the grapes are meticulously sorted then destemmed before being macerated in concrete vats . Aging lasts 9 months in 225 liter barrels .
