Champagne Mouzon Leroux - The Ascendant
Champagne Mouzon Leroux & Fils is located in Verzy, in the Montagne de Reims in Champagne . The owners have been winegrowers from father to son since 1776 and the property is now managed by Pascale, Philippe and Sébastien Mouzon . The family estate of 8 hectares is divided into 60 plots, in the Montagne de Reims and the Grand Cru Verzy. The vineyard has been certified biodynamic since 2008 and has implemented the agroforestry technique by planting more than 1,000 trees and shrubs in the plots of vines, as well as more than 300 aromatic plants such as thyme, oregano. , savory and mint. Chickens and sheep are also on the estate for grazing in winter.
L'Ascendant is a blend of solera from the L'Atavique cuvée, started in 2014. It is made up of L'Atavisque 2017 (50%) and L'Atavisque 2016 and 2014 (50%). It was disgorged in October 2022 and is bottled with an Extra-Brut dosage of 1 g/L .
