Champagne Piper Heidsieck - Rare 2006
Piper-Heidsieck is a Champagne house founded in 1785 in Reims by Florens-Louis Heidsieck. It is one of the oldest Champagne houses, and Marie-Antoinette was its first ambassador. Since 2011, it has been owned by the French luxury group EPI (Entreprise Patrimoniale d'Investissements), controlled by the Descours family. The Piper-Heidsieck vineyard covers over 65 hectares, and the house sources its wine from 240 partner winegrowers, spread across over 110 vintages.
Rare 2006 is a blend of Chardonnay (70%) and Pinot Noir (30%) from plots classified as Grand Cru and Premier Cru. It is aged on slats for a minimum of 7 years and is bottled with a dosage of 9.5 g/L .
