Whiskey MICHEL COUVREUR - Fleeting S - distilled in 2009 and matured in a Meursault cask from Florent Gardaudet - 48%
Independent bottler Michel Couvreur was originally a Burgundy wine producer and merchant. He turned to the world of whisky in 1978 and distilled for the first time in Edradour in 1986. At the time, he wanted to buy a distillery in Scotland but his wife opposed it and they decided to settle in Bouze-Lès-Beaune , halfway between Scotland and Andalusia, and to intervene in the maturation of whiskies; mainly in Sherry and Port casks. The range is very varied and meticulous work of blending, selection of new casks, unusual techniques is undertaken daily. Since his death in 2013, his son-in-law Cyril Deschamps and his wife Alexandra have continued Michel Couvreur's work.
Fleeting S was distilled in 2009 and aged for the last 7 years in barrels that previously contained Meursault wine from Domaine Florent Gardaudet.
Unpeated
"Fleeting S embodies the elegant intersection of whisky and wine. This unpeated single malt, aged in a Meursault cask, reveals buttery, honeyed, and lightly toasted aromas, reminiscent of a mature Chardonnay."
