Champagne Nowack - Terres Bleues - Extra Brut
The Champagnes Nowack, located in Vandières in the Marne Valley, embody a demanding parcel-based vision carried by Flavien Nowack, heir to a lineage of winemakers since 1795. On the 3.6 hectares of the estate, each parcel is studied and vinified separately to precisely express the uniqueness of the Champagne soils. The vineyard work is conducted with intelligence and respect, favoring just maturity and natural balance. In the cellar, the philosophy is based on fermentations by indigenous yeasts, minimal interventions, and very low dosage. The parcel cuvées thus translate a pure and contemporary reading of the terroir.
Terres Bleues Extra Brut 2022 is made exclusively from Pinot Meunier, from the parcel Les Terres Bleues, located on the upper slope on fossiliferous limestone soils. The vinification is carried out without chaptalization, with indigenous yeasts, and the aging takes place in thermoregulated stainless steel tanks, without malolactic fermentation, in order to preserve the freshness and natural tension of the vintage. The choice of Extra Brut highlights the purity and energy of the wine. This 2022 vintage expresses a straight and bright profile, faithful to its high-altitude terroir.
On tasting, the nose reveals delicate aromas of fresh white fruits, accompanied by a fine chalky note. The palate is precise and balanced, carried by fine and elegant bubbles. The whole reveals a beautiful freshness and a marked mineral tension, signature of the limestone soils. The finish is clean, vibrant, and salivating. This Extra Brut Champagne will ideally accompany a refined aperitif, seafood, or a light and iodized cuisine.
