Château d'Argens - Chant de Lumière 2023
The Château d’Argens is located in Minervois, in the heart of Languedoc, on a terroir where plant, mineral, and Mediterranean light meet. The estate follows a deeply sensitive and committed approach, conducted according to the principles of biodynamics, with the ambition to let the vines fully embody their environment. Every gesture, in the vineyard as well as in the cellar, is guided by attention to the living and the energy of the place. The wines of Château d’Argens are conceived as aesthetic proposals as much as vectors of pleasure and sharing, reflecting a contemporary, demanding, and inspired vision of wine. The estate now stands as a unique signature of Minervois, capable of competing with the greatest names in the region.
The cuvée Chant de Lumière 2023, under the AOP Minervois, is made from a blend of Syrah, Grenache, and Mourvèdre, offering a deep and luminous reading of the terroir. This wine expresses a rare ambition for the appellation, combining aromatic intensity, freshness, and great aging potential. The 2023 vintage highlights the purity of the fruit and the natural balance of the grape varieties, giving birth to a wine that is both structured and vibrant. This cuvée perfectly embodies the estate’s philosophy: producing wines of emotion, carried by the energy of the place and a precise vision of the living. A true great favorite of the team, Chant de Lumière stands out by a quality level comparable to great wines of Languedoc offered at much higher prices. An ambitious, sincere, and deeply striking cuvée.
On tasting, the wine seduces by its brightness on the palate and its expression of fresh fruits, mostly red, sometimes black. Notes of blackberry, a mentholated touch, as well as a subtly toasted register, always carried by an irresistible freshness sensation. The palate is ample, dynamic, and perfectly balanced, with dense but never heavy matter. The tannins are present, fine, and structuring, supporting a long finish. This characterful Minervois will ideally accompany Mediterranean cuisine, grilled meats and vegetables, tapas, or even world cuisine dishes. It has a aging potential of 10 to 15 years, allowing it to evolve towards even more complexity and depth.
