Château La Negly - La Côte 2024
The Château La Négly, located in the heart of the La Clape appellation, benefits from an exceptional maritime terroir between the Mediterranean and limestone massif. The vines enjoy generous sunshine tempered by sea breezes, promoting complete ripeness while maintaining freshness and balance. The typical clay-limestone and stony soils of the area bring depth, structure, and intensity to the wines. Under the impetus of the Paux-Rosset family, the estate has established itself as an essential reference for the great reds of Languedoc. The vineyard work is rigorous, with controlled yields to preserve concentration and terroir expression. Château La Négly today embodies the successful alliance between Mediterranean power and elegance.
The cuvée La Côte 2024 is made from a blend of Carignan, Grenache, Mourvèdre, and Syrah, emblematic grape varieties of La Clape. The 2024 vintage highlights an intense and refined expression, faithful to the estate's structured style. The vinification is carried out with precision to preserve the purity of the fruit while developing a beautiful density of matter. The aging supports the wine's structure and refines the tannins without masking the Mediterranean identity of the blend. This cuvée stands out for its balance between indulgence and character, offering a modern and elegant interpretation of the terroir.
On tasting, the color presents an intense ruby. The nose combines aromas of blackcurrant and blackberry, enhanced by notes of black pepper and licorice. The palate, generous and structured, offers a silky and refined texture, supported by fine and harmonious tannins. The finish is smooth and elegant, leaving a persistent impression of ripe fruit and spices. This wine will ideally accompany a rib steak with chanterelle fricassee, as well as roasted or grilled meats. It is recommended to taste it between 4 and 6 years to fully appreciate its evolution and complexity.
