Domaine Jessica Litaud - Rose à Lies 2023
The Domaine Jessica Litaud, located in Vergisson in the heart of the Mâconnais, continues its development with an artisanal and very precise approach, embodying a new generation of Burgundian winemakers attentive to the reading of the terroir. The estate's vines are carefully worked on emblematic limestone slopes of southern Burgundy, at the foot of the rocks of Vergisson and Solutré. Production remains deliberately confidential, with winemaking choices oriented towards purity, freshness, and the most sincere expression of the grape. Each cuvée is conceived as a unique interpretation of the vintage, without seeking artifice, in a resolutely artisanal spirit.
The cuvée Rose à Lies 2023 marks the birth of a new cuvée within the estate. Made from Chardonnay, it stands out by an original approach highlighting extended lees aging, intended to bring texture, complexity, and depth while maintaining great aromatic precision. This cuvée explores another facet of the grape variety, between Burgundian freshness and a more indulgent dimension, without ever losing balance. The 2023 vintage, marked by beautiful maturity, allows obtaining a wine both expressive and structured, while remaining faithful to the estate's identity. Vinification and aging are conducted with restraint to preserve the fruit's brightness and the wine's natural energy.
On tasting, Rose à Lies 2023 opens with delicate aromas of ripe white fruits, apple and pear, accompanied by floral notes and a slightly brioche touch brought by the lees work. The palate is supple, enveloping, and balanced, with a beautiful body supported by discreet but structuring freshness. The texture is silky, offering a sensation of controlled roundness, while the finish remains clear, elegant, and persistent.
