Château COUFRAN 1994
The vast vineyard of Château Coufran is classified in the Haut-Médoc appellation. It is located on the edge of the Gironde estuary, on a terroir of different shades of gravel which is particularly suitable for the 50-year-old vines of the estate, Merlots and Cabernets Sauvignon. Contrary to Medoc habits, the second grape variety represents only 15% of the vines while it dominates the debates on the left bank.
Advised by Jacques and Eric Boissenot , two famous consultants, Eric Miailhe vinifies this cuvée in thermoregulated stainless steel before aging for 12 months in quarter-new barrels.
