DAME DE TROTTEVIEILLE 2011
The second wine of the Château Trotte Vieille was created in 2002 under the name of La Vieille Dame de Trotte Vieille. An old parchment in Gascon dating from the 15th century already attests to the use of this name.
We trace the origin of its name to an old lady who lived in this house several hundred years ago. Legend has it that near the castle, at the crossroads of its roads was a stagecoach stop, and each time a team stopped, the old lady jogged down to go to the news hence the name Trotte Vieille.
Exceptionally, there is still a piece of vine dating from before phylloxera. Manual picking in crates and vinification are always meticulously accomplished. The wine is known for its elegance, roundness and great length.
