Champagne Chartogne Taillet - Cuvée Sainte Anne
Chartogne-Taillet is located in Merfy , in the Montagne de Reims in Champagne . The estate has existed since 1683, when the Taillet family began to cultivate vines in Merfy. It is still a family estate, managed by Alexandre Chartogne-Taillet since 2006. The 11 hectares of the vineyard are divided into 13 distinct plots on a clayey-sandy soil. Alexandre Chartogne-Taillet uses organic farming methods and has given up the application of synthetic herbicides, but is not certified.
The Sainte Anne cuvée is a blend of several years of harvest. Often composed half of the wines of the year which precedes the bottling, and for the other of older wines (from 2 to 5 years of reserve). Sainte Anne is aged and vinified in 228, 350 and 2000 liter barrels . A small part of this Champagne has aged in vats, mainly the reserve wines. After aging in the cellar, Sainte Anne is disgorged with a Brut dosage (4-7 g/L). The labeling liqueur used is made with the same wine as that of the cuvée which is disgorged.
Grapes: 50% Chardonnay, 50% red grape varieties (with a majority of Pinot Noir)
