Champagne Lelarge Pugeot - Tradition - Extra Brut
The Lelarge-Pugeot estate is located in Vrigny, in the Montagne de Reims in Champagne . It was founded in 1799 by Pierre-Henri Lelarge, but the first champagnes were marketed from 1930. In 1950, Marcel and Fernande Lelarge took over the estate and, in 1963, gave birth to Dominique, the current generation. Dominique went to study at the School of Viticulture Oenology in Beaune in Burgundy, where he met Dominique Pugeot, his future wife. A few years later, Dominique and Dominique took over the family business. The House then becomes Champagne Lelarge-Pugeot. The young couple decided to evolve their work towards a more sustainable approach by reducing pesticide and herbicide treatments. From the 2000s, they completely stopped using insecticides to recreate the biodiversity of the vineyard. They obtained certification in organic farming in 2015 while adopting biodynamic practices, certified from the 2017 vintage.
