Clos Constantin - Arjiès 2023
Clos Constantin is located in Argelliers, on the Terrasses du Larzac in Languedoc . It was founded in 2017 by Pierre Halley and Samuel Durand , through the acquisition of the vineyard of Pierre's great-grandfather, Constantin. They cultivate 15 hectares of vines certified organic , and in conversion to biodynamics. The plots, located between 200 and 230 meters above sea level, benefit from a refreshing microclimate that mitigates the effects of the Mediterranean climate.
Arjiès is a blend of Syrah (50%), Grenache and Cinsault from the oldest vines on the estate on a very stony soil. The wine is aged for 12 months in foudres and demi-muids , then 6 months in concrete vats .
Grape varieties: 50% Syrah, Grenache, Cinsault
"A deep wine with a mineral touch. Arjiès 2023 combines the structured power of Syrah, the roundness of Grenache, and the finesse of Cinsault in a rare balance. The old vines on stony soil deliver a dense but fresh expression, underlined by noble aging in tuns. Decant or leave in the cellar for a few years."
