Champagne Oudiette - UniTerre - Extra Brut 2020
UniTerre Extra Brut 2020 from Champagne Oudiette is a terroir and conviction cuvée, conceived as a sincere and precise expression of contemporary Champagne. The clear, bright golden robe is animated by a fine and regular bubble that signals great mastery in its making. The nose opens with clear aromas of fresh apple, crunchy pear, and zesty citrus, complemented by notes of white flowers and a very marked chalky touch. Upon aeration, nuances of fine brioche, almond, and damp stone appear, adding depth without ever weighing down the whole. The aroma is straightforward, pure, deliberately understated, leaving full space to the soil and the wine’s identity. From the first sniff, UniTerre asserts a true personality, based on precision and balance.
On the palate, the attack is frank and chiselled, carried by a clear acidity that structures the wine with elegance. The body is taut but never austere, with a fine texture and perfectly integrated bubbles. Flavors of white fruits and citrus continue on a very precise, almost saline mineral framework that stretches the palate and enhances the sensation of purity. The Extra Brut dosage highlights the wine’s sincerity, without disguise, letting the terroir and vineyard work speak. The balance between tension, body, and finesse is remarkable, giving a palate that is both energetic and harmonious. The finish is long, clean, marked by chalk, lemon, and an elegant noble bitterness. This is a champagne with a clear and confident expression.
UniTerre Extra Brut 2020 is a gastronomic champagne, particularly comfortable at the table. It will ideally accompany oysters, seafood, raw or grilled fish, but also fine and refined cuisine where the wine’s precision finds a natural echo. It also drinks very well on its own, for attentive tasting where every detail counts. Served around 10 to 11 °C in a large glass, it gradually reveals all its complexity and mineral depth. Already very expressive, it also has an interesting potential for evolution over a few years. This is a straight, demanding, and deeply identity-driven champagne, aimed more at lovers of terroir wines than at fans of simple effervescence.
