Château Roubine - Cru Classé - Premium Rosé 2025
Château Roubine holds a historic place in the Provençal vineyard, in Lorgues, at the heart of the Côtes de Provence appellation. The estate, whose history dates back to the Middle Ages and was linked to the Order of the Templars at the beginning of the 14th century, benefits from a strong identity, associated both with heritage, terroir, and the elegance of the great rosés of Provence. Recognized as Cru Classé in 1955, Château Roubine is one of those properties that contributed to giving the Côtes de Provence a qualitative and gastronomic dimension. Since 1994, Valérie Rousselle has managed the estate with a demanding vision, attentive to the precision of the wines and the enhancement of the environment. The vineyard extends in a preserved Provençal setting, between Mediterranean influences, clay-limestone soils, and garrigue landscapes. This location allows the production of rosé wines that are both bright, fresh, and structured, capable of combining immediate pleasure and true table presence. The Premium Rosé 2025 cuvée fits within this signature, expressing a refined, accessible style representative of Château Roubine's know-how.
The Château Roubine Cru Classé Premium Rosé 2025 is made under the AOP Côtes de Provence, from a blend of Provençal grape varieties vinified separately to preserve each one's personality. Cinsault, Grenache, Tibouren, Syrah, Mourvèdre, and Rolle contribute to the overall balance of this cuvée, although the exact proportions are not disclosed. The grapes come from clay-limestone soils, typical of this part of Provence, which favor both aromatic finesse and freshness of the wine. Harvesting is done at night, an essential practice to preserve the fruit's brightness and limit oxidation before vinification. The cuvée benefits from a short cold skin maceration, then fermentation is conducted separately for each grape variety, with controlled temperature around 15 to 16 °C after cold settling. Malolactic fermentation is blocked to preserve liveliness, tension, and clarity of the aromatic profile. In the 2025 vintage, Premium Rosé asserts a fresh, fruity, and balanced Provençal style, faithful to the elegance expected of a Cru Classé from Provence.
On tasting, Château Roubine Premium Rosé 2025 shows a pale pink, clear, and bright robe, in the spirit of the great contemporary rosés of Provence. The nose is expressive and delicate, with notes of citrus, pink grapefruit, clementine, stone fruits, and a gourmand nuance reminiscent of English candy. On the palate, the attack is soft, fresh, and seductive, supported by a clear fruit and a beautiful sense of balance. The texture remains light but sufficiently ample to give the wine a gastronomic dimension. The finish, long and fresh, retains a pleasant presence of citrus and a slightly mineral touch that enhances the precision of the whole. This rosé from Côtes de Provence will pair very well with a refined aperitif, red mullet fillets, grilled fish, herb-roasted poultry, shellfish, or a summer cuisine with Mediterranean accents. Its aging potential remains that of a pleasure and freshness rosé, ideally enjoyed within two to three years to fully appreciate its aromatic brightness.
